Follow My Logic

All jewelry custom made in Flushing, Queens
Photography by BShim of Bashful Captures

Okay, follow my logic here on these pictures...

When I think about my fav gold jewelry pieces, they for sure include my name ring, necklace and initial pendant- all from the 90s!

Then I started to think about Carrie Bradshaw because she restarted the trend a decade later in SATC.  (Thank you very much Carrie as I loved bringing these personalized pieces back into my jewelry rotation.)

When I think of Carrie and all her wardrobe fabulous-ness, there is 1 dress that stands out in my mind.
The Versace dress in Paris, season 6. Swoon.

Her dress has nothing to do with gold jewelry but that one dress sums up everything I love about haute couture fashion-- true fantasy.

Conclusion: I love gold and love even more fluffy couture dresses.  Which then makes me think about Oscar de la Renta but lets save that conversation for another time.

Hope you followed that.

Black & Gold Errthang

Sweater: J.CrewPants: Theory. Belt: H&M (similar here). Necklace: H&M. Bracelets: Forever 21.  Shoes: Givenchy. Bag: Chanel. Photography by Steph Wells

Happy Memorial Day!  I'm so not ready to go back to work tomorrow.  Emotional hangover!!!

So I've been on a serious gold binge this month: necklaces, bracelets, belts.  Gold errthang.  My favorite way to wear it is against an all-black outfit.  It's perfect for days when I want to be comfortable at work but glam it up a little bit.

P.S. I can't wait for you to see the pics from our photoshoot in SF!

Goodbye Spring, HELLO SUMMER!

Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sandals: Derek Lam, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Photography by BShim of Bashful Captures

Cousin, I'm suffering from a major California emotional hangover.  I might have to come back next year for Bay to Breakers, part II!  Can't get enough of organized chaos.

Even though San Fran was crazy fun, have to say the weather in NYC is way better.  Seems like we skipped spring and went straight into summer.  This long jersey dress is the perfect fix for finicky weather and highly recommend you snag one as San Fran weather is... well... cold, then warm, then colder, then kinda warmer!

Super excited to see how our joint photoshoot came out!  Let me see!

Spring Forward

Jacket: Yeojin Bae (old). Shirt: J.CrewTop: Saint James. Denim: J Brand (similar here). Belt: J.Crew (similar here). Shoes: Christian Louboutin (old). Bag: Chanel. Watch: Hermes. Photography by Steph Wells

Cousin, first, I loved your last post!  I'm sweatin' those white polka dot sunglasses.  Second, aren't you a little...well, too mature...to be shopping at Abercrombie & Fitch?  I'm just sayin ;-)

So we've been getting spring in dribs and drabs here in SF.  And from what I've heard, it hasn't been much better in NYC.  When we DO get breaks from the cold weather, I incorporate as much spring as I can into my wardrobe.  For example, this belted khaki jacket with three quarter sleeves.  It's incredibly light and versatile.  I usually pair it with dark flare jeans and short, flowy dresses (which also prevents embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions when the wind kicks up).

I'm hoping the weather heats up by the time I visit you in a few weeks in NYC!

What Kind Of Pants Does Super Mario Wear?

Denim Jacket, Sleeveless shirt, Bandeau, Skirt: Abercrombie & Fitch, Sneakers: Keds, Sunnies: Quay
Photography by BShim of Bashful Captures

Hi Cousin!  I'm writing this post from sunny SoCal and have been working on my tan.  It actually feels like Spring/ early Summer here-- vs NYC where 60s feels like 50s-- PASS.

I haven't been a fan of denim on denim for a while now but have seen some outfits where it has worked out really well.  I'm def digging your denim, leather, booties look-- just gives the double denim an updated touch.

The only time I wear denim jackets is with skirts as I think denim jackets with denim jeans look like an urban version of the canadian tux.  Again-- PASS.  I found this whole outfit at Abercrombie & Fitch and can't tell if I'm an older chick trying to look young or just looking cute as a button.  HAHA!

So what kind of pants does super mario wear?  obviously, DENIM, DENIM, DENIM.... get it? You might need to hear me say it-- but the joke never gets old.  NEVER.

See you later today!  Jean

Double Denim

Jacket: Gap (old, similar here). Shirt: J.Crew. Skirt: Alice & Olivia. Belt: J.Crew (old). Shoes: IRO. Bag: Chanel. Earrings: H&M. Necklace: Jennifer ZeunerPhotography by Steph Wells

Denim on denim is one of the trickier fashion trends to pull off.  Remember this denimonstrosity on Britney and JT?  But I've been seeing double denim is everywhere right now, so I'm taking the leap!

Denim on denim seems foolproof, right?  But with all the colors and washes out there, finding the perfect blend of shades to pair was easier said than done.  Fortunately, I had this chambray shirt and denim jacket in my closet.  I kind of love that it looks polished but still feels super casual (this outfit is on repeat right now).

Double denim: do or don't?

P.S. Can't wait to see you this week in San Francisco, cousin!

I Have That Shirt Too!

Shirt: Saint James; Bucket Cap: Pins and Needles, Pants: Hudson Jeans, Sandals: Derek Lam, Sunnies: Illesteva

Hi Cousin! Another work appropriate outfit could be combining your Saint James shirt, distressed skirt and a fitted blazer.  Maybe even a printed silk scarf?  The shirt is very versatile and the possibilities are endless.  I like to keep my Saint James shirt to the nautical look.  Now I just need a boat.. Hmm...

Anyway, so excited to see you next week in SF.  So much to do, so little time!
I'm hoping that mini heat wave comes back for me!

Stripes

Vest: J.Crew (old, similar here). Top: Saint James. Jeans: DL1961. Belt: J.Crew (old). Shoes: Zara (old). Bag: Chanel. Watch: Hermes. Sunnies: Alexander McQueenPhotography by Steph Wells

Bon dimanche, mes amis!  It's been a glorious week thanks to the mini "heat wave" here in San Francisco.  I've been soaking up as much sun as I can before Mother Nature knocks us back to reality.  (It's already 20 degrees colder - BAH!)  Mostly just lounging around, eating and drinking on the Bay.  Which brings me to the inspiration for today's outfit: nautical stripes.

And who does nautical stripes best?  The French, of course!  This blue and white striped t-shirt by Saint James is one of my favorite and most versatile pieces (as you'll probably see in future blog posts).  Honestly, I don't know what I would do without it.  Do you have a favorite tee?

Hope your enjoying the weekend!

Mille bisous, Linda

The Distressed Denim Skirt

Skirt: ASOS (sold out, similar here)

In case you may be thinking "Really? That's so 1990!"... let's discuss the versatility of the distressed denim pencil skirt:

Work: I don't know about you, but business casual bores me to tears.  I have countless black skirts and trousers that look EXACTLY the same!  Enter the distressed denim skirt.  You could throw it on with a classic white shirt to add a little edge to your outfit and still handle yo' business.

Weekend: I'll admit it, there have been weekends when all I wore were my Lululemons (wearing them right now).  My justification was that I wanted to be comfy without looking like I just rolled out of bed.  That, and they have magical bootie lifting properties.  Now if I had a distressed denim skirt, I could pair it with an oversized hoodie or denim shirt (a la RiRi) and go casual chic.

So distressed denim skirt: yay or nay?

xoxo, Linda

X-Ray Vision

Tank: Mono B, Denim: Paige, Sunnies: Ray-Ban

To be honest Cousin, I think the H&M version is actually nicer than Isabel's ( don't judge me! ).  You continue to surprise me with your savvy H&M purchases and I think you need to share some H&M tips with me.  Don't act like you don't know what i'm talking about-- hint hint-- the runners, the e-baying, the searches online.... mmHmm.

Okay-- so here is my current favorite tee.  Can't tell why?  Obviously because it makes me look ridic skinny-- you can see my bones!  HAHA!

THANK YOU Erin and Amanda M. at #SLT and Elianna at #Soulcycle for keeping me in shape!  Xoxo.
